HIPAA certification your team can put their name on

Standard training proves someone took a course. A certification proves they know the material — an independent credential they've earned and can carry with them. We offer two: the Certified HIPAA Privacy Associate and the Certified HIPAA Compliance Officer.

More than a certificate of completion

Most HIPAA training ends with a certificate that says you finished. Useful, but it isn't the same as being certified. These credentials are independent certifications from VanRein — proof of the material, not just attendance.

Certified HIPAA Privacy Associate

The credential for the people who handle protected health information day to day.

Who it's for

Healthcare professionals and business associates — anyone whose job involves handling PHI and who needs to prove they know how to do it right.

What it covers

The core of HIPAA in practice: what PHI is, how to protect it, patients' rights, and how to avoid the violations that lead to breaches.

Certified HIPAA Compliance Officer

The deeper credential for the person who owns HIPAA compliance for an organization.

Who it's for

Compliance officers and the people responsible for running a HIPAA program — not just following the rules, but owning them.

What it covers

Everything the Privacy Associate covers, plus running a program: risk-analysis methodology, breach response, policy ownership, training oversight, and audit-ready evidence.

How it works

  1. 01

    Length

Roughly two to three hours, so it's a real credential without being a semester.

  2. 02

    Format

Fully online, completed at your team's own pace.

  3. 03

    Certificate

Earn the credential by passing the exam.

Let's talk about where you stand

Whether you're starting from scratch or shoring up a program you already have, the first step is a straight conversation about your organization and your risk.
